While in Amsterdam, I bought a book from The American Book Center. I’m just getting round to reading it now, and I noticed the ABC cashier had placed two of their bookmarks inside the front cover. They’re simple white. One side says The American Book Center is “your main source of English language books.” On the other, at the top, is a picture of a blue and white vase sprouting tulips. Beneath it is a list of KEY DUTCH PHRASES.
I think the 10 chosen phrases offer a great interpretation of what may be considered a key, must-know Dutch phrase. “Would you like to come home with me?” (“Wil je met me mee naar huis?”) is my favorite.
